Rich Papp is Lab Manager & Safety Officer at Fielco Adhesives.  His responsibilities include quality control analysis and certification of all Fielco products, as well as verification analysis of raw materials.  As Safety Officer, Rich coordinates safety meetings, security, lockout/tag out procedures and many other safety measures.  He is actively involved in developing and updating all laboratory methodology and also works with Fielco chemists on product development and testing.  Rich is constantly looking for novel approaches & new equipment to improve Fielco’s ever growing laboratory capabilities. 

Rich is a highly experienced chemist.  His analytical background requires that he thoroughly understand each Fielco product that he works on.  Rich says, “A quality laboratory always has an infusion of new ideas.  We’re always learning and expanding at Fielco and that’s a very satisfying way to work.” 

Rich is a graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Chemistry.  Prior to joining Fielco, Rich spent 34 years at Lyondell Chemical Company where he was an Analytical Manager overseeing 38 chemists, physicists, statisticians and technicians.  Rich also has experience as the Manager of Physical Analysis and Environmental Monitoring at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals.  Rich has authored 2 patents, a textbook and has been called upon as an expert witness in 3 major proceedings.   

His outside interests include playing the clarinet & saxophone, spending time with his family and actively participating in his community church.
